Dougie looks at the impact of Scottish Government proposals to ban coastal netting of Salmon. The temporary ban will enable scientists to research the health of migratory salmon stocks. The proposed ban has been welcomed by Scotland’s angling bodies.

Sarah travel from Orkney with some Aberdeen Angus cattle destined for a Show and Sale at Thainstone Mart in Aberdeenshire. This summer has been particularly wet in Orkney and there hasn’t been enough grass to feel cattle. Farmers have had to resort to shipping their cattle to the mainland to be fattened or simply sold much earlier than normal.

Dougie continues his journey around the top of Scotland on a classic motorbike – the Triumph Bonneville. This week his journey takes him from Thurso in Caithness to Achriesgill in Sutherland. Along the way he stops of at the famous Smoo Cave system in Durness.

Whisky Galore

Whisky Galore
Euan is in Portsoy to meet the cast and crew filming the remake of the classic movie, Whisky Galore. The film is based on the novel by Compton Mackenzie and tells the story of the ill-fated SS Politician which ran aground on Eriskay with its cargo of Whisky. The new film stars Gregor Fisher and a host of Portsoy locals.
