Each week, songs are played connected to members of 'The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame'. Continuing our alphabetical look at the list, we hear 'These Dreams' by Heart and 'God Bless The Child' by Billie Holiday. In 'A Matter Of Life And Death', we celebrate the birthday on this date in 1940 of Bruce Channel by playing his hit 'Hey! Baby'. Paul pays tribute to Tommy Overstreet, who has recently died, by featuring his Number Two Country hit 'Ann (Don't Go Runnin')'. 'It's Not The Same Old Song' highlights 'Here I Go Again' by The Hollies and a different song with the same title by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles.
In the feature called 'Beyond The Sea', Paul plays a song from a UK artist's biggest-selling album in America. Tonight, we hear tracks from LPs by 10cc and Everything But The Girl. 'The Other Number Ones' are records that reached the top of the American chart in 'Cash Box' magazine, but not in the Hot 100 of the other US chart publication 'Billboard'. This week's examples are by Gallery and Prince.
Our R&B number ones are from 1963 and now by The Impressions and Janet Jackson featuring J. Cole. We hear Country number ones from 2007 and this week by Taylor Swift and Chris Stapleton. Our featured past and present Rock number ones are by Bryan Adams and Elle King. The number one album is 'Traveller' by Chris Stapleton and the best-selling digital song is 'Hello' by Adele.
