Paul Gambaccini presents tracks from this week's US charts and hits from the last six decades.

Each week, songs are played connected to members of 'The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame'. Continuing our alphabetical look at the list, we hear 'Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)' by George Harrison and 'Theme From Shaft' by Isaac Hayes. In 'A Matter Of Life And Death', we celebrate the birthday on this date in 1940 of Dr. John by playing 'Right Place, Wrong Time'. Paul pays tribute to producer and songwriter Allen Toussaint, who has recently died, by playing one of his biggest hits - 'Working In The Coal Mine' by Lee Dorsey. 'It's Not The Same Old Song' highlights 'Close To You' sung by Frank Sinatra and a different song with the same title by the Carpenters.

In the feature called 'Beyond The Sea', Paul plays a song from a UK artist's biggest-selling album in America. Tonight, we hear tracks from LPs by John Mayall and Ten Years After. 'The Other Number Ones' are records that reached the top of the American chart in 'Cash Box' magazine, but not in the Hot 100 of the other US chart publication 'Billboard'. This week's examples are by Gale Garnett and The Beach Boys.

Our R&B number ones are from 1982 and now by Marvin Gaye and Tyrese. We hear Country number ones from 1979 and this week by Waylon Jennings and Chris Stapleton. Our featured past and present Rock number ones are by Lenny Kravitz and Elle King. The number one album is 'Traveller' by Chris Stapleton and the best-selling digital song is 'Hello' by Adele.
