Len Goodman takes journalist and broadcaster Eve Pollard back to the seaside town of Margate in Kent to reminisce about the holiday of her lifetime back in 1955.
First up, Len surprises Eve by picking her up in a beautiful E-type Vauxhall car just like the one her family had back in 1955. As they drive down to the Kent coast the memories start flooding back, and that's just the beginning of this trip down memory lane.
They read Girl magazine on the sand - a magazine that Eve loved back in the day and started her out on the road to becoming a successful and respected journalist. They sate their appetite by tucking into the surprising foods she would have eaten back in the day - like a whopping, tasty salami. Afterwards, they visit the Dreamland fairground which was the highlight of a young Eve's holiday, before strolling down the prom and talking about what it was like for the young Eve and her European parents living and working in postwar Britain.
Along the way we get an insight into Eve's career, which included becoming the first female editor of a national newspaper as well as interviewing royalty and presidents. We also find out what made this holiday so special for a young Eve Pollard.
