Billy Sloan plays the very best in pop and rock music from Scotland's greats as well as the rest of the world with regular features Spin The Globe and Early Morning Soul. This weekend's Musical Chairs highlights the career of George Martin - record producer, arranger, composer, conductor and musician who died this week aged 90. He signed the Beatles to Parlophone records and produced and shaped the band's music and was often described as the 'fifth Beatle'. He arranged and composed numerous film scores and worked with many artists including Gerry and the Pacemakers, Shirley Bassey, Cilla Black, Ultravox and Kate Bush. The Live and Dangerous tracks are from Frank Sinatra's live album 'The Main Event' and in Classic Songwriters, Billy plays tracks from the pen of American singer/songwriter and record producer Dan Penn.
