Patience Agbabi

Patience Agbabi
Poet and Performaer Patience Agbabi was nominated as one of the UK’s Next Generation Poets in 2004. She has published four collections, the most recent is her book reinterpreting and remixing Chaucer,  ‘Telling Tales’ (Cannongate). Patience has been commissioned by Poet in the City to write a poem celebrating St Paul’s Cathedral. The poem will be performed at the Under The Skin event at St Pauls on Monday 26th September

Poet Glyn Maxwell’s new book is ‘Drinks with Dead Poets’ expands the world he examined in his 2012 book ‘On Poetry’. It is also a novel, featuring Glyn himself waking in a mysterious village populated by dead poets. Glyn tells Iain why he decided that every word spoken by the poets in the book should be taken from their own writings.

The writer Iain Pears has always experimented with form, from his first novel ‘An Instance of the Fingerpost’, with a competing cast of unreliable narrators, to his latest ‘Arcadia’ (Faber). Originally conceived as an App first, the book features three overlapping worlds. Iain explains how the book couldn’t have been written without new technology, a new writing programme allowed him to jump through the worlds as he wrote them.
