Ian McMillan presents Radio 3's cabaret of the word. Ian's guests live from the pop-up studio at Southbank Centre are Deborah Levy, Jess Robinson, Xiaolu Guo and Toby Litt.

As part of Radio 3 live at Southbank Centre, London, Ian McMillan presents The Verb. Ian and guests will be celebrating Radio 3's 70th birthday with a special live edition from the pop-up studio at Southbank's Foyer.

Ian's guests are the writer Toby Litt who will be reading a new commission inspired by the idea of the box - perfect material for the pop-up studio box we are broadcasting from!

The Novelist and filmmaker Xiaolu Guo was one of the Granta's 'Best of Young British Novelists' in 2013. She will be discussing Chinese Science Fiction as well as her latest novel 'I am China'

Deborah Levy will be reading from and talking about her Booker Shortlisted novel 'Hot Milk.

There will be music and a plethora of vocal impressions from the performer Jess Robinson.
