Carolyn Quinn is joined by Labour's Lucy Powell, Conservative vice chair Mark Field and UKIP MEP Patrick O' Flynn for a discussion on Brexit, business rates and by-elections.
Carolyn Quinn is joined by the Labour MP Lucy Powell, the Conservative Party Vice Chair Mark Field, and the UKIP MEP Patrick O'Flynn. They preview the Lords' debate on Article 50, and discuss the controversy over changes to business rates. With two close-fought by-elections coming up in seats previously held by Labour, they also talk about the challenges faced by the party in its northern heartlands. And the former Conservative MP Jonathan Aitken reflects on his own experience of prison and says government cuts have led to the current problems in the prison system. The New Statesman columnist Stephen Bush provides a guide to events coming up this week at Westminster.
