In Search of The Blue Nile
Longtime fan Ken Sweeney meets Paul Buchanan and PJ Moore, former members of The Blue Nile, and revisits the redstone buildings and locations they immortalised in song.
The Blue Nile remain the most enigmatic band in pop, releasing just four albums in twenty years.
Yet fans of their melancholic perfection include everyone from Elbow, to The 1975- winner of Best Band at the Brits 2017.
In Search of The Blue Nile sees long time fan Ken Sweeney travel to Glasgow to meet former members Paul Buchanan and PJ Moore, and revisit the red stone buildings and locations they immortalised in song.
The key role played by the late Stuart Adamson of Big Country in bringing the band to the attention of Virgin Records is also revealed, as is the pressure put on the group to deliver their second album Hats (1989), follow up to debut 'A Walk Across The Rooftops' (1984).
