Springwatch Episode 8
A dramatic week comes to an end in Gloucestershire. Martin Hughes-Games and Iolo Williams go head to head, pitting two birds against each other to see which is the ultimate hunter.
Another dramatic week comes to an end in Gloucestershire, and Michaela Strachan and Chris Packham report live on all the latest action from the National Trust's Sherborne Estate.
Chris is in Sherborne village to look at the importance of gardens for British wildlife, and how the old Cotswold stone buildings in this part of the world can provide a crucial habitat for many species.
Also on the park estate, the blackcap family is hanging on by a thread, the buzzards have been tucking into a surprising diet, and there's finally a glimpse of the full brood of the grey wagtails.
The programme catches up with the peregrine family and the new foster chick high up on Salisbury Cathedral, and Gillian Burke investigates some new science about how some other urban-living birds, the gulls, make their living.
Meanwhile Martin Hughes-Games and Iolo Williams go head to head, pitting two iconic birds against each other in a challenge to see which is the ultimate hunter.
Plantlife's Trevor Dines also gets to fulfill a lifelong ambition, gaining access to Porton Down, one of the most secretive sites in the UK, and one of the best examples of chalk grassland in the whole country.
