Pretty Boy - A tale of bare knuckle boxing

Johnny I'Anson follows Scott Midgley, a bare knuckle boxer from Bradford dubbed 'Pretty Boy' as his sport tries to go mainstream.

Bare knuckle boxing is not illegal...so long as the rules are followed. Johnny l'Anson follows the journey of Scott 'Pretty Boy' Midgley, a bare knuckle boxer from Bradford as he prepares for "the biggest bare knuckle boxing event in modern history".

Often assumed to be the preserve of gangsters and travellers settling feuds, Johnny enters a little-explored world to encounter a host of surprises. Hear him ringside at fights sanctioned and licensed by councils, with the blessing of the police. Where paramedics and doctors are in attendance alongside 2500 fans and online viewers around the world.

Alongside Scott, Johnny meets fighters getting paid thousands a night and flown in from America, and the organisers who believe history will judge them as pioneers of a legitimate, ethical and professional combat sport.

Can one lad brought up on a rough estate in Bradford achieve his dream of becoming "the best bare knuckle boxer on the planet", and shake off his sport's sinister reputation? "Pretty Boy" finds out.
