Richard Egarr directs the Academy of Ancient Music in cantatas and instrumental works by Bach and Telemann featuring soloist Iestyn Davies, live from the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh. Bach's solo cantata BWV 54 is his first known work of this kind and extols the resistance of sin, while BWV 169, written around a decade later, is longer and, in seven movements, tells of the love of God.
