Thomas was always seen as a number two behind team-mate Chris Froome but it all changed with the Cardiff-born cyclists' performances across Brittany, through the cobbles in the north and over the Alps and the Pyrenees. After more than 3,300 kilometres on the bike Thomas crossed the finish line in Paris to win world cycling's most famous race.
