The editor of a 'Lad's Mag' proposes a bet to prevent a talented and attractive woman journalist leaving for a better job. The editor then throws her into situations to ensure he wins.

Against a backdrop of "Cosi Fan Tutte", Mozart's opera about the perils of love and gambling, a young woman learns about malice and manipulation.
