Rainbow Trust Children鈥檚 Charity supports families with a seriously ill child by providing emotional and practical support for as long as it is needed.

When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, family life is turned upside down in an instant and time becomes more precious than ever. Rainbow Trust Children鈥檚 Charity has teams of Family Support Workers across the country who help the whole family to cope by supporting them at home, in hospital and in the community.

In the appeal you hear about Dominic, who was just ten weeks old when he was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour and was unable to leave the hospital ward for five months. Their Rainbow Trust Family Support Worker, Vicky, became like an extra family member. She looked after Dominic so his mother could have precious time with her elder son, Zach, reducing her anxiety and giving her something to look forward to

Gyles knows all too well the positive impact of Rainbow Trust as his family has benefitted directly from their support after his grandson was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer when he was just 18 months old. Happily, Gyles鈥檚 grandson, after eight months of treatment, has a bright future ahead of him.
