An Drochaid - The Bridge over the Atlantic
A Canadian and Scottish fiddler take a unique road trip, and showcase their shared heritage at a one-off concert in Canada.
Co-obrachadh ciùil sònraichte eadar Canada agus Alba. Dà dhùthaich 3000 mile air falbh bho chèile – air an ceangal le drochaid. Drochaid chiùil, drochaid chultarail, drochaid fhidhill.
Tha an cluich dìoghrasach aig an fhìdhlear Colin Grant à Ceap Breatainn na tharraing dha mòran air an dà thaobh den Chuan Shiar. Na chois tha am fìdhlear òg sgairteil Albannach, Eòghann MacEunraig, a chaidh a thogail ann an nòs ciùil beairteach sgìre Loch Abair air taobh siar na h-Alba.
Còmhla tha iad a’ gabhail cuairt rathaid air leth, turas pearsanta dhan dithis aca, agus turas de mhisneachadh ciùil agus taisgealaidh. Siridh iad buaidhean ciùil bho chruth-tìre agus daoine, an dà chuid ann an Canada agus Alba; nì iad ceangal le luchd-ciùil, daoine agus à ite; agus aig a’ cheann thall bheir an dithis aca na dualchasan ciùil aca còmhla ann an cuirm shònraichte mar phà irt den fhèis chiùil eadar-nà iseanta, Celtic Colours ann an Canada.
A unique music collaboration between Canada and Scotland. Two countries, 3,000 miles apart, connected by a bridge - a musical bridge, a cultural bridge, a fiddle bridge.
Cape Breton fiddle player Colin Grant’s infectiously enthusiastic playing has made him a favourite on both sides of the Atlantic. Joining him is talented young Scottish fiddler Ewen Henderson, whose own musical roots are deeply embedded in the rich traditional music scene of Lochaber on the west Coast of Scotland. Together they take a unique road trip, a personal journey for both, and a journey of musical inspiration and discovery.
They will seek out musical influences in landscape and people in both Canada and Scotland, and connect with musicians, people and place, and ultimately showcase their music and shared heritage at a unique concert as part of the international music festival - Celtic Colours in Canada.
