Mary Bevan, Simon Mayor, John Kirkpatrick, Auric Quartet

Sean Rafferty's guests include soprano Mary Bevan, mandolinist Simon Mayor, folk musician John Kirkpatrick and the Auric Quartet.

Sean Rafferty presents a lively mix of music, conversation and arts news. Soprano Mary Bevan sings live for us and looks forward to a recital of music by Henry Purcell at the Hoxton Hall in East London. Mandolin virtuoso and poet Simon Mayor is joined by his long-term collaborator Hilary James to talk about their new anthology of poems and drawings, and folk musician John Kirkpatrick and The Auric String Quartet, who are performing at the inaugural Clun Valley Music Festival in Shropshire, play live in the studio.
