<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />Good morning. Sometimes I wonder whether Jesus would find it harder to walk the earth today than he did 2,000 years ago. While I’ll never know the answer to that question, my imagination tends to run wild. He would certainly face different challenges in our modern culture. Would he need to conjure up a vegan option at the feeding of the 5,000? Would he be late to the Sermon on the Mount because his Uber got stuck in traffic? How viral would the video go if someone Snapchatted him walking on water? Would Peter follow him back on Instagram? Who knows.

What I do know is that in the New Testament’s letter to the Hebrews we read that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and for ever. That gives me confidence that even though times have changed drastically, the principles and passions of Jesus Christ remain the same. I have no doubt that if he was alive in human form on earth today, he’d still have an impact on this ever-changing world with his never- changing love.

I once heard a friend say, ‘You can’t fight today’s battles with yesterday’s tools.’ In a practical sense I’d agree with that statement. If I released my next album on cassette rather than on iTunes, it would probably sell next to no copies. If I put music videos on VCR instead of YouTube, not many people would have the chance to see them.

With that being said, I believe that you can fight today’s battles with yesterday’s tools – instruments that have stood the test of time.
Lord, thank you for Faith, hope, love, peace, and forgiveness may they always help us greatly - especially in the trials of the present day. Amen.
