Russian cellist Anastasia Kobekina joins pianist Jean-Selim Abdelmoula for works by Shostakovich and Cesar Franck.

Young cellist Anastasia Kobekina joins pianist Jean-Selim Abdelmoula for the final recital in Radio 3鈥檚 Cello Festival in partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Shostakovich鈥檚 anguished cello sonata opens their recital, written at a turbulent time in the composer鈥檚 life. Franck鈥檚 hugely popular sonata (and wedding gift for Eugene Ysaye) follows, in an arrangement that Franck himself approved for cello and piano.
