All roads lead to the Diamond... In Raphoe!

There’s plenty of fun and laughter for Helen Mark and Rab Lennox in the company of locals and visitors gathered in the Diamond to celebrate Raphoe's rich Ulster-Scots heritage.

Helen Mark and Rab Lennox head to Raphoe in Donegal to meet locals and visitors who’ve turned out in great numbers to celebrate the town’s annual Ulster-Scots Heritage Day. Who knew there were kilts for 3 year olds, that young pipers love to go to Moscow, or that an Antrim man’s hand-crafted maces are hurled by drum-majors around the world? Then they meet the a man who danced with the queen and piped for two American presidents, visit a tiny cathedral once part-occupied by a magistrate and Helen hears about the cows who enjoyed Rab’s music.
The team love to break free of the studio and welcome invitations to see what’s going on in your corner of the Ulster-Scots community – you can give contact them by email at Kintra@bbc.co.uk
