Domestic violence in France

According to reports, a women is killed every three days in France and around 200,000 are subject to domestic violence each year. These are some of the worst statistics in Europe and 'France's shame' according to President Macron. In November 2019 the French government published a strategy aimed at tackling this issue. But is enough being done? Annabel Maclennan is in Marseilles to find out.

The importance of English-language classes

Many refugees and asylum seekers have found a home in Glasgow in recent years. A significant number will arrive without knowing any English, which is essential to building a new life in the city. For those who secure a college place English classes are free unlike elsewhere in the UK. But waiting lists for these classes have grown. Reporter Niall O'Gallagher speaks to tutors, learners and those offering courses about how important these classes are to those who receive them, and the barriers that some refugees and asylum seekers face when trying to attend them.
