If you ask about their sound, A Thousand Horses self-identify as a hybrid of English rock, country, American rock, soul, and blues. Their sound takes in Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, the Black Crowes, and the Rolling Stones in the context of modern country.
Plus there's exclusive new music from The Avett Brothers, Brett Eldredge and an amazing new track from Jimmie Allen with Darius Rucker & Charley Pride.
Our reissue of the week is the Grateful Dead's 50th anniversary edition of "Workingman's Dead", and Bob's also paying tribute to Charlie Daniels, who died earlier this week.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, when so many musicians are unable to tour, Radio 2's Country Show is asking artists to perform from their own front room, doing a little to keep the bond between artist and audience alive. First up was Carly Pearce, followed by Thomas Rhett, Mandy Barnett, Gretchen Peters, Steve Earle, Kip Moore, Lukas Nelson, Willie Jones & Billy Strings with the likes of Ingrid Andress, Brett Eldredge, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Scotty McCreery to come.
