Wake up to a star-studded breakfast with Zoe Ball and a whole host of celebrity guests, plus live music in the studio!
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter chat to Zoe about the brand new Bill and Ted movie and what it's like to revisit the characters nearly 30 years later. This is the third 鈥楤ill & Ted鈥 film, following on from 1991鈥檚 鈥楤ill & Ted鈥檚 Bogus Journey鈥 and 鈥楨xcellent Adventure鈥 which came out in 1989. Keanu Reeves has starred in all three Matrix movies which began in 1999, and is filming the fourth one at the moment. He is also known for his role in the John Wick series, and a fourth film is rumoured to be in the works. He established himself as an action hero with leading roles in 鈥楶oint Break鈥 and 鈥楽peed鈥.
Alex Winter has been directing documentaries for the past few years and has just completed 鈥榋appa鈥 which is an in-depth look into the life and work of Frank Zappa. He also directed the 2018 documentary film 鈥楾he Panama Papers鈥.
John Bishop is on the phone talking to Zoe about his brand new tour and also his upcoming ITV documentary series about whales. The documentary was produced by the same people behind 鈥楾he Blue Planet鈥 as John follows every step of these two beluga whales journeys. The whales, Little White and Little Grey were captured as youngsters in the world. They鈥檝e been in captivity together over the last 10 years performing at an entertainment park. The new owners of the park are committed to returning them to a life in the ocean. His stand up career started in 2000 and the following year he made it to the final of 鈥楽o You Think You鈥檙e Funny鈥 on the 大象传媒. In 2009 he appeared in Channel 4鈥檚 series Comedy Showcase and was a contestant on Celebrity Mastermind. Most of his comedy material is drawn from his life's experiences including fatherhood, cycling around the world, playing football and being a nightclub doorman.
Yusuf/Cat Stevens chats to Zoe about his newly recorded version of his iconic album 鈥楾ea for the Tillerman鈥 and he鈥檚 sent in a specially recorded track from home, an exclusive version of 鈥楩ather & Son鈥. 鈥楾ea For The Tillerman鈥 was the second album Yusuf / Cat Stevens' released in 1970, and his fourth studio album overall, and includes some of his best-known songs such as 鈥榃here Do the Children Play?鈥, 鈥楬ard Headed Woman鈥, 鈥榃ild World鈥, 鈥楽ad Lisa鈥, 鈥業nto White鈥, and 鈥楩ather and Son鈥. Since its release in 1970, the songs on the album have been magnified and developed a life of their own thanks to their use in film, TV, and numerous reinterpretations by other artists 鈥 such as over the closing credits of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant鈥檚 鈥楨xtras鈥, 鈥楬arold and Maude鈥, 鈥楪uardians Of the Galaxy Vol. 2鈥, 鈥楾he A-Team鈥 and 鈥楾he Simpsons鈥 and a UK number 2 cover of 鈥楩ather and Son鈥 by Boyzone. Yusuf / Cat Stevens was a former art student and took a one-year course at Hammersmith School of Art, and even considered a career as a cartoonist.

Pause For Thought
Autumn is coming, it鈥檚 darker when I wake up, there鈥檚 a mouldy odour in the woods when I walk the dogs, and Jamie who looks after the Vicarage garden, is thinking about moving stuff inside that doesn鈥檛 like the cold. Like me, he鈥檚 pushing sixty, and like me, has a bad back. I鈥檓 not surprised, considering how much bending and lifting he has to do for his job 鈥 working on the land since he was a boy. We were talking over a cup of tea, swapping bad back stories, and I asked him what had done for his. 鈥淣orthern Soul,鈥 he said. It wasn鈥檛 digging the veg patch, it was dancing.听
He used to drive up with his mates to Wigan Casino from Wellingborough in an Austin Princess, dance the night away, and drive home, wide-awake and wide-eyed. 1976, bliss was it in that dawn to be alive, until he started his business and bought his first house, and hung up his Roxy threads. Dance the night away, Northern Soul style. Spins, drops, high kicks, boys in soul bags and singlets, girls in skirts and flatties, sliding and swivelling, with immaculate precision. To enable this they would sprinkle the dance floor with talc, to keep feet fleet and swift. Forty years is a long time to suffer back pain, I said, I know because mine went following an accident when I was eighteen. 鈥淚t wasn鈥檛 then, it was now,鈥 said Jamie.听
He鈥檇 started going again, to Northern Soul nights, dancing to The Fascinations and Wayne Gibson and Yvonne Baker, like the old days; but some things have changed. They don鈥檛 use talc on the dance floor anymore, they use silicone, which is much more effective, So much more, that when Jamie attempted his first spin he lost control and - crack - his back went. I wondered how long I would manage if I tried to recapitulate the Second Summer of Love on Ibiza, in 1990, when we danced the night away at Amnesia and Ku, and got barred for life from a reputable car hire company. Not long. In the book of Ecclesiastes we read of the times of our lives - times to build, and times to laugh, and times to dance - and times to stop, and do other things. Autumn follows summer, even in the weirdest of years; enjoy the autumn, never go back.
