The Education Minister, Peter Weir, has said he will be seeking clarity from Transfer test providers and grammar schools over their plans for the next academic year. It comes after St Columb's College and Thornhill College in Derry announced on Friday that they would abandon the transfer test for a second year because of the pandemic. In a statement to this programme, the Department of Education said the Minister wanted early clarity for parents and young children and will be considering the matter in the coming days.
