Councillors back calls for a human rights investigation into allegations of heavy-handed policing in Creggan last week.

Derry City and Strabane District Council has backed a proposal to write to the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the Committee on the Administration of Justice, asking for an immediate investigation into complaints alleging heavy-handed policing during an operation in Creggan. The police have defended their actions during an operation targeting the New IRA's bomb-making activities.
