The effects of the coronavirus pandemic are still being felt in the tourist industry and more people are expected to holiday at home in Scotland this year. Alasdair MacLennan reports on the pressures this could place on camping and campervan facilities in the Highlands and the possible solutions.

Alasdair is also in conversation with Calum Steele, General Secretary of the Scottish Police Federation, about his work and the challenges facing policing today.

The impact of Covid-19 on tourism
With the coronavirus pandemic having a huge impact on the world of tourism, more people are now deciding to holiday at home in Scotland. With higher numbers of people however, there are increasing pressures on the camping and motorhome infrastructure, which has been causing issues. Alasdair MacLennan takes a look at what is being done in the Highlands to alleviate these issues for this year, and years to come. One proposed solution is to adopt the 'Aires' system, a network of motorhome sites already established in France, but some question whether this is suitable for the Highlands.

Calum highlights the challenges of policing in Scotland today, including policing Covid regulations, and its approach to combating Scotland’s drug problems. He also discusses his recent appointment as EuroCOP president.
