The United States and Australia compete for bronze at the Ibaraki Kashima Stadium. The US lost to Canada in the semi-finals, while Australia were undone by Sweden.
Australia and the US are competing for the first women's football medal of the games, where they are playing for the bronze. The US made a poor start to the tournament with a shock loss before coming through to the semi-finals. They could not overcome Canada and will now need to win to secure a medal. Sweden were the undoing of Australia, who had performed well to make it to the semi-finals, including a win over GB. The gold medal match is on Friday 6 August.
