As we welcome 2022, the year of storytelling in Scotland, we take a look at poetry and stories and how they connect us with people and place.

In part one, Mark meets Scotland鈥檚 Makar, Kathleen Jamie to discuss her poem: What the Clyde said, after COP26. He also visits places in Glasgow with connections to the Clyde鈥檚 industrial past that have now been regenerated. He finds out about wildlife in the city centre at the Cunningar Loop, the new lease of life for the Fairfield Shipyard offices in Govan and the fascinating history of the Clyde Amateur Rowing Club. He also speaks to a man who knows the Clyde better than most, George Parsonage, who spent 40 years as riverman with the Glasgow Humane Society.

And in part two, we visit Moniack Mhor, Scotland's National Creative Writing Centre. Mark and Euan speak to the centre's founder, Kit Fraser, about how Moniack Mhor came to be and who visits. They also hear from those who have experienced the residential writing courses at the centre and from writers who tutor there. We discuss how important the centre's location in the Highlands is for inspiring people and Euan has a go at writing his own tale following his Moniack experience. Plus Euan meets Dundee based storyteller Erin Farley who tells him a couple of folk tales.
