Rest and Be Thankful

Rest and Be Thankful
Problems with the Rest and Be Thankful on the A83 in Argyll have been ongoing for many years now. In terms of landslides, it is the most risky road in Scotland. The last one happened in August 2020 and between that and other incidents, the Rest and Be Thankful was closed for 200 days over the course of that year. This meant delays for drivers as they had to take alternative routes. The people of Argyll are tired of this and want a permanent solution to the problem. According to the Scottish Government, they could be waiting up to 10 years for this. ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ is in Argyll to find out what’s been done to deal with this on a day-to-day basis, what the plans for improvement are and how it all impacts the area and the people who live there.

Body image
Social media has become a huge part of our everyday lives. We spend hours scrolling through other people's pictures, and post our own for the world to see. But much of what we see on many social media platforms has gone through an editing process, with it being easier than ever before to retouch a photo or add a filter. Now, some mental health experts warn that edited online content could be harmful for people's wellbeing, and can affect people's body image. In this week's episode of ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹, Andrew MacKinnon finds out more from social media influencers and from the experts, and we also hear from Norway, where a law is to be introduced, ensuring all edited promotional pictures on social media must highlight that they have been retouched.
