Wednesday - Schoenberg's orchestration of Brahms's First Piano Quartet

Penny Gore introduces Schoenberg's arrangement of Brahms's Piano Quartet No 1, medieval music from Ensemble Celadon and pieces by Ruth Gipps, Mussorgsky, Martinu and Schubert.

Penny Gore continues her week of Afternoon Concert with a performance of Brahms鈥檚 Piano Quartet No 1 in Schoenberg鈥檚 orchestrated version, with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. There are more Medieval pieces from Ensemble Celadon, and choral music by Schutz and Schein from the Leipzig Cantorey, and of course regular contributions from the 大象传媒 performing groups. Today, there鈥檚 also music by Ruth Gipps, Schubert, Mussorgsky, Martinu and Julia Perry.
