Madlib AKA Otis Jackson Jr. is an American hip hop producer, multi-instrumentalist, and rapper widely known for his collaborations with fellow radical black maestros MF DOOM, J Dilla and Freddie Gibbs. Tackling Blue Note's legendary soul-jazz catalogue, the hip hop extraordinaire created a classic of the plunderphonics genre; tracks which are constructed by sampling other recognizable musical works. The result is a groovy, quirky and ultimately accessible work of art.
