Derry runner George Row, former Derry journal editor Pat McArt on creative writing and the Ulster University's 25@25 programme

Park runner veteran George Row on getting the Danny Sheerin Award, a new creative writing class from former Derry journal editor Pat McArt at Studio 2 Derry.

Well known runner and Parkrun volunteer George Row has received the Waterside Half Marathon 2023 Danny Sheerin Award from the Sheerin family and Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council. George is the running director of the local Park Run and has volunteered for it on 245 occasions! George took up running in his later life after growing up as a talented judo player. Having documented many of the running routes on the Strava app he is actively helping the people of Derry begin their athletic journey. Former Derry Journal editor Pat McArt is starting a new creative writing class at Studio 2 in Skeoge. Music from singer songwriter Reevah. Her song "Call me up" features in the new Sky drama series "The Lovers' ' written by David Ireland but fans of Derry Girls will know him as Claire's dad.
