For Ramsay MacMahon, his ideal weekend is spent seeking adventure, meeting new people, and exploring all of Scotland’s hidden gems. Ramsay’s travels take him north to Caithness. Starting in Thurso he kicks off the weekend at the beach with a bracing surf lesson before learning all about the area’s unique flagstone.
With his love for quirky accommodation, Ramsay stays in the lighthouse keeper’s cottage at Dunnet Head - the most northerly point on British mainland. The next morning, Ramsay walks out to breathtaking sea stacks and visits the iconic John O’ Groats. He then heads south following the coast to Wick where he meets a local to find out about the once thriving fishing industry.
