Welcome to the musical journey of one of our most versatile actors who is equally at home playing the treacherous Danny Waldron in 鈥淟ine of Duty鈥� to Eddie O鈥橤rady in the 2010 film 鈥淢ade In Dagenham鈥�. It's Daniel Mays.

Born in Buckhurst Hill, Essex 鈥� he studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts before moving to RADA, where he graduated in 2000 and in the same year achieved his debut role in EastEnders, followed by his first big screen role in the blockbuster 鈥淧earl Harbour鈥�. But his big break was when he was cast by Mike Leigh who has had a huge influence on his acting career - in 鈥淎ll Or Nothing鈥� and 鈥淰era Drake鈥� in 2002 He's since gone on to star as Ronnie Biggs in the ITV drama 鈥淢rs Biggs鈥�, and more recently, the voice of Fetcher in 鈥楥hicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget鈥�.

On stage, Daniel is currently starring as Nathan Detroit in 鈥楪uys & Dolls鈥� at the Bridge Theatre in London. And further tickets will be released on 4th January at 10am for that sell-out show. The cast will also be featuring in 鈥楾he National Lottery鈥檚 Big Night Of Musicals鈥� at the A.O Arena in Manchester on 22nd January, with the night being shown at a later date on 大象传媒 1 and here on Radio 2.
