Vernon Kay welcomes to the studio for the second time this year actress, and singer/songwriter Shaznay Lewis. Earlier this year she gave us her magnificent 鈥淧iano Room鈥� performance at Maida Vale. Today she will choosing her favourite songs and stories behind them in this week鈥檚 Tracks Of My Years omnibus edition.

She grew up in Islington, North London and made three appearances for Arsenal Ladies during her teenage years, which obviously helped her to secure the role as Mel in the 2001 hit film 鈥淏end It Like Beckham鈥�.

She is the founding member of the highly influential girl group 鈥淎ll Saints鈥� known for hit singles like 鈥淣ever Ever鈥�, 鈥淧ure Shores鈥� and 鈥淏lack Coffee鈥� all co-written by Shaznay. She is one of the most successful pop songwriters of the late nineties, early noughties writing for Tina Turner, Little Mix, Beverley Knight and Westlife amongst many others, for which she won accolades including two BRIT Awards, a MOBO and an Ivor Novello.

She premiered her latest single 鈥淜iss of Life鈥� on Zoe Ball鈥檚 Breakfast Show and indeed it was one of the tracks she played during her Piano Room performance.
