Sibelius’ Symphony No.5 from Paris and pianist Vikingur Ólafsson plays Mozart

This week, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish composers, performers and venues provide a Nordic flavour to the afternoons. Today, Finnish conductor Mikko Franck and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra play Sibelius’ much-loved Symphony No.5. There’s also Mozart from Icelandic pianist Vikingur Ólafsson, Stenhammar’s tone poem Excelsior from the ´óÏó´«Ã½ National Orchestra of Wales, and Norwegian violinist Johan Dalene plays music by Rautavaara.
