Belfast shoegaze band Virgins in session.
Like Punk, the word 鈥榮hoegaze鈥� started out as a pejorative journalistic term, back in the early 90s, used to describe the swirling guitars and hazy, echo-laden layers of noise made by bands like Ride, My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. Nowadays, it鈥檚 a genre of indie music. Belfast quintet Virgins have just released their debut album 鈥淣othing Hurt and Everything Was Beautiful鈥� and it is a breathtaking exploration of the sonic terrain of 鈥榮hoegaze鈥�.
