After the Going Merry escapes from Fortress Navarone, the Octopus Balloon shrinks, and Luffy and his crew touch down on an open sea. There, they run into a pirate ship with no flag, no sail, no captain or navigator, and its crew is spiritless and disorganized. The mystery ship sinks when it is swallowed by a huge wave caused by Sea Monkeys. Usopp has a bad feeling about the ship, but before long, they arrive at an island. There is nothing on the island except a vast, grassy plain. Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp go ashore, and they find out that the animals on this island are abnormally long. They also find a house and a long, pretty horse in front of it. The trees are also long (tall) on this island, and when Luffy breaks a long, moving bamboo shoot, a man falls from the sky. He is Tonjit, who climbed the bamboo stilts ten years ago and stayed there all this time because he was too scared to climb down. Meanwhile, back at the shore, the Going Merry gets trapped between two giant chains from a ship that snuck up from behind. Then a voice from the ship demands a duel with the crew of the Going Merry.
