While Zolo is walking around town looking for a new sword to replace Yubashiri, he runs into Michael and Hoichael, boys he met earlier on Water 7. They ask him to become their "big brother," and although he refuses, he ends up at their house. Mama, the head of the family that includes Michael, Hoichael, and several little brothers and sisters, forces Zolo into helping their housework, and he soon realizes that none of the family members are related even though they are a warm, loving family. He manages to run away from them once, but goes back to protect them from an evil gang of loan sharks. Mama finally lets Zolo go when she finds out that the bond between him and his "family" is as strong as her own.
