After Akainu鈥檚 magma fist penetrates his body, Ace falls into Luffy's arms. He thinks about his past, and remembers his goal in life: to find out whether or not he deserved to be born. Akainu proceeds to attack Luffy, but Jinbe stops his advance. Marco and Vista then rush to Luffy鈥檚 aid and strike Akainu with Haki-imbued attacks but with little success. Just as Ace dies, he thanks Luffy and everyone else for loving him.
