When Ace and Luffy meet, Ace gives Luffy the cold shoulder, but Luffy yearns to be friends with Ace. Luffy chases Ace all over the island, but Ace purposely leads him to dangerous places to discourage him. Luffy is unrelenting and continues chasing Ace for three months when he reaches the end of the forest and discovers a strange place.
