Cat Viper is there right now, visiting Marco, who, after the death of Whitebeard in the Paramount War and their defeat to the Blackbeards in the Payback War, takes care of the villagers as their doctor. Marco recounts the village鈥檚 history to Cat Viper. When Whitebeard was still a boy, the island was ravaged by pirates as it was too poor to pay the duties to join the World Government. After Whitebeard set sail to the seas and became a pirate, he had been sending all his money to the village to keep it safe. Cat Viper wants Marco to join him in the imminent battle in Wano Country, but Marco intends to stay in the village to protect it from the threat of Weevil, a current Warlord of the Sea who claims to be Whitebeard鈥檚 son. Marco gives Cat Viper a message to Luffy, and Cat Viper tells Marco that they鈥檙e planning to take down Kaido.
