Offering laughs and musical merriment, Variety Bandbox started life at the end of World War II broadcasting on ´óÏó´«Ã½ General Forces and later transferred to the Light Programme running until 1952. It launched a number of stars.

In this episode Frankie Howerd lets us in on his celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. And sings a favourite ‘old Tibetan’ folk song.

Derek Roy lets us in on the latest cinema trends.

Semprini plays a piano medley and Vanessa Lee sings a medley of ‘All The Things You Are’ and ‘Lover’.
