Linton Stephens showcases the best performances by 大象传媒 orchestras, choirs, ensembles and other great performing groups from Europe and around the globe. This week on Classical Live, we celebrate 25 years of the 大象传媒 New Generation Artists scheme. Founded in 1999, the programme supports some of the world鈥檚 most exciting young instrumentalists, ensembles and singers at the start of their international careers, through performance and broadcast opportunities on Radio 3. Today, violist Timothy Ridout plays Stravinsky's Suite Italienne, the Consone Quartet performs Mendelssohn's String Quartet in E flat major and for our centrepiece, cellist Andreas Brantelid joins the Swedish Chamber Orchestra to perform Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 in C major.

Plus, we will hear music from Switzerland, thanks to our partnership with the European Broadcasting Union. The Swiss Orchestra, conducted by Lena-Lisa W眉stend枚rfer, perform Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Op. 61 and pianist Bertrand Chamayou joins the Basel Chamber Orchestra to perform Mozart's Divertimento in B flat.
