Cannes
The Cannes Film Festival gets underway in the South of France on Wednesday. It could be a vintage year according to film insiders. A host of big name international directors - including Ang Lee, Quentin Tarantino and Pedro Almodovar all arrive with new films. The 大象传媒's Vincent Dowd is our man in Cannes to tell us more.
Eurovision Asiavision
This year sees the 54th Eurovision Song Contest. Originally set up in 1956 to bring Europe together, there are now 42 countries participating. The Strand looks at why the contest remains so popular, why the countries of the ex-Soviet block are desperate to take part and discusses the first ever Song Contest for the Asia Pacific area - Our Sound.
Harare Festival of the Arts
The Harare International Festival Of The Arts has just come to a close after six days of performances, theatre, and poetry events. Over 50,000 people brought tickets for the event this year - performers coming not just from Zimbabwe but other southern African countries as well. Brian Hungwe reports from Harare.
Diamanda Galas
The American avant-garde performer Diamanda Galas is famous for her distinctive, operatic voice, which has a three and a half octave range. She talks to Mark about her project Songs of Exile - her interpretation of poetry by exiled poets from across the world.
