Forest socials

The clearings in the rainforest have been used by generations of elephants and other elusive forest wildlife to get essential water and minerals. Around 2,800 individual elephants are known to visit this one clearing, or bai, in Africa. Western lowland gorillas also use the bais communally as a way to cement relationships, dispute dominance and play.
