Fleet footed tommies
The Thomson鈥檚 gazelle is one of the smallest antelope found on the African savannahs, but their size makes them extremely vulnerable to predators. The cheetahs have been waiting for the Tommies to turn up in their part of the savannah for months - now is their chance to eat as much as they can. Each cat has a different style of hunt, but stealth is always key if they are to stand a chance against the fleet footed Tommy. The cheetah is faster but the Tommy can turn quicker and has more stamina. Each chase only lasts 300 metres at most, but those few seconds will decide the fate of the Tommy. In a fair chase the cheetah has a 50/50 chance of catching a meal, which is the highest success rate of all the African big cats. An unlucky stumble can be what seals the fate of a Tommy in one of these chases.
