Treehouse Boost, Summer 2010, 'Caring for Me'

Children's hospice appeal gets a boost thanks to a local business, summer 2010 looks to be a hot one (haven't we heard that before). Local teenager hoping to set up a fund to help cancer sufferers.

The EACH Treehouse Appeal looks set to get a massive boost after a local business steps in with a cash donation and the offer of practical help for the new children's hospice in Ipswich.

Just in time for Easter holidays, a new Guide is published giving ideas for disabled people and their families to make the most of the great British outdoors and three Suffolk attractions feature in it. It feels as though this winter has gone on forever and we're all looking forward to some warmer weather. After the Met Office got it so disastrously wrong for the summer of 2009, why would you predict a scorcher of a summer for 2010? James hears how a local teenager from Grundisburgh was diagnosed with cancer at 18 years old. She is now recovering from treatment and together with her Mum, is setting up a fund from home to offer free therapies to other cancer sufferers.

Earlier this week Sugar, the one year old Staffie, was threatened with being put to sleep if she wasn't found a new home. She's been given a reprieve thanks to the kindness of 大象传媒 Radio Suffolk listeners. Now James hears whether or not Sugar has been found a permanent home.
