Farmland

Bill Oddie finds a variety of birds on East Anglian farms, including swallows, house martins, linnets, spotted flycatchers, finches, sparrows, buntings, owls, stone curlews, partridges.

It is the height of summer, and Britain's favourite birdwatcher heads into the very heart of East Anglia to look for birds on farms. Farmers have not had a very good press lately, and many farms are quite literally birdless zones. But come to the right place and they can be absolutely packed with birds, including skylarks, partridges and the delightful little owl - what a little cracker!
