Bill Oddie presents his practical guide to bird watching. In this programme Bill travels to Cape May in New Jersey, North America's birding hotspot, in search of migrants and birds of prey. Pat and Clay Sutton have a backyard bird list to die for! They have recorded an incredible total of 193 different species of birds, either in the garden or overhead. Bill sits on their terrace and watches some typical American garden birds, and one not-so-typical - a tiny ruby-throated hummingbird - as it fuels up on nectar for its long journey south.
